Kiddos

After what seems like many long weeks of running nonstop, rain,
storms, and just busyness, I was thankful that yesterday I could
stop and focus on my kiddos.
Nickayla stuck close to my side most of the afternoon
Prince Charming is never far away
Randomly the kids take breaks from playing and come to flop
over my legs. I have no idea how this got started but I feel like
I constantly have one or more flopped over me while I sit.
 Sanieka showing some cheese
Paris and I. She seems to be growing up faster and faster!

Thank You Jesus for these simple afternoons.

Random Pictures

Pumpkins are hard to get so this year we carved
 (drilled, hammered, cut) a coconut.
The wall in the library is FINALLY done thanks to Victoria.
One plus to hurricane Sandy... The winds were strong enough to
blow Jevaughns sandles off the school roof.
He is so excited to once more have them on  his feet,
and not just daily point to show me
where they are on the roof:)

Today was Victoria's last day in MV. She is now back in Kingston
to spend the last few weeks, that she will be on the island, there.
Please be prayerful for her final weeks here.

A Wedding

Yesterday I got to play wedding photographer.  Meisha comes to
church at New Life, and was involved in our single women's bible study.
A few months ago she came up and informed me I would take
pictures at her wedding :). ...... Okay.

Here are a few pictures from the day.

Here is when the hearing pastor (who was needed
to witness them sign the marriage certificate)
pronounced them for the first time.
"I now introduce Mr. & Mrs. Mcknight"
He was then informed Ian's last name was Brown.
He tried again.
" I now introduce Mr. & Mrs. Brown!"
Whoops!

Please be praying for Ian and Meisha as they start their
life together.

So Long Sandy

I tried uploading a video of Victoria flying a kite in
the hurricane but it just wouldn't work :(.
I am praising Jesus that the storm has come and gone and we
are all fine here at KP. This morning its BEAUTIFUL outside
and I Praise God for His protection and provision over us.

I know there are some on the island who the storm really
hit hard, I know there are some still without power,
and I know at least 1 life was lost. Please be praying
as people start picking up pieces of the mess that Sandy
did leave behind.
Thanks for all your love and prayers!

Waiting for Sandy

The rain and the wind have started. We are boarded up, the cars are in the farm shed (just in case things go flying), school is cancelled, and we are settled in waiting for the arrival of Hurricane Sandy that is supposed to hit us head on sometime tomorrow.
Please be praying for us as we wait out the storm.
Thanks!

Heaven

One of my kids saw this luggage tag on an empty suitcase sitting in the
libarary and came over to ask me:
"Is that Heaven?"
Nope, I explained Heaven is so much better then even that!

Have a great Day!

Take Back The Night

Saturday night Victoria and I drove down to Kingston to join the JAD
(Jamaican Association for the Deaf) team for the 5k walk/run. It was so much fun!
Tashi, Blake, Victoria and I before the run/walk.
They were the runners, I was the walker:)
Everyone with their glow sticks ready to go.
 Dawn mid walk
finishing with the time of 1:06.25
Impressive I know. :)
 Donette, me, Moyah, and Dawn.
my walking group.... we were the last
ones to come in from the JAD group.
back at the digicel building for the after 5k party.
Tori was so excited she ran the entire thing without training!
She did awesome, I was so proud of her.
(sorry I know this video isn't the best)
The whole reason for the 5k was to raise awareness about
the different organizations in Jamaica that support
special needs groups. Very cool to see everyone come out
and support.

Your Invited...

to a holiday of your own.

ENJOY!

Sunday-Monday- Tuesday

This weekend the kids all went home for National Hero's Weekend
Since it was a holiday weekend Victoria and I went on a holiday:)
Sunday after church we loaded up and headed to Mobay for a few
beach days.
Here we are, ready to go!
We arrived in time to check in at our hotel, Walk around a little, then grab
a table outside to watch the the sunset as we ate supper.
Monday morning we were up early and the first ones at the
beach. The first time I went the water it was just me and the
life gaurd out there. He was passing the time snorkling until
more people (other then Tori and I) came to the beach. As he passed me
he told me to look down, when I did I noticed there was a jelly fish under
my feet. He said "no worries it won't hurt you". I didn't know if he knew
what he was talking about or not so I swam around the jelly fish watching
it for a while before going back to the safety of the beach.
My second time in the water. I took up the challenge to climb the
iceberg (massive white thing in the picture). It was a lot harder then
it looked but both Tori and I made it to the top and ended up with a
massive amount of salt water in us when we came down.
While out there I also met my friend Tyrese. He, like his dad,
was a 'rescuer' (life guard). We spent a lot of time hanging out.

After soaking in a massive amount of sun...maybe to much...
we went walking around the shops,

then grabbed milk shakes from the pelican and jumped over the
sea wall
to sit on the rocks and watch the sunset. We did a lot of people
watching too. It was a great way to end the day.
Our game plan was to leave Mobay about noon so instead
of paying to go back to the beach we hung out at the pool.
Its a good thing too after only an hour the sun was so
intense we were back inside. Our sun soaking the previous
day was enough that our bodies informed us we were done:)

It was a LOVELY weekend away. I was thankful that
it worked out. Especially when it took WAY longer
then normal to get home because of all the rain and
dreariness that was in the MV area.

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Sunday

We have been going through Romans in church and learning
a lot about 'Grace'. Sunday Pastor Damian and Felicia
sang this song for us.

Praise Jesus. His Grace is Enough!

Saturday

Saturday a group from New Life Church for the deaf went to Y.S.
for a church outing.
It was a fun day full of swimming,
 playing games,
and hanging out with Friends.

It was so much fun and I praise Jesus for fun days with my
brothers and sisters in Christ.

It was fun to have Blake, Tashi, and Deb come up for the
weekend too!

Friday Photo Dump

Nickayla, she is probably my biggest "photographer" right now.
The kids' new thing recently. Swinging with more than one person
on a swing.
Eventually someone falls off becuase the weight  gets to be
to much and they think its HILARIOUS!
The poor rabbit got caught one day and was made to be the center
in many photo shoots.
The kids still LOVING the sandbox.

Ms. Sharon getting in on the cricket game
 everyday afternoons.
The older boys got their hands on the camera and
became wanna be male models
 ... more male modeling
When Britini doesn't get her way she comes over and flops on me
pouting until she gets over it. It usually just takes her a min. or two
then she is good to go again:)
Dadrie made me a card. On the outside her name was written, and
then she told me to open it up and I read Bweny. I smiled and
asked her to explain what that meant. She got a little attitude with
me as she explained. "Its your name" oh, okay. I should have
guessed that?!?
Every once in a while the bigger kids come in to "play"
Have a WONDERFUL Weekend!
