Meet South Side Baptist... and Truitt

Last week we had a team from South Side Baptist Church
(in Virginia) come and spend the week with us. They were a small
team of 7 but they were able to accomplish a lot of work.
They wanted to
"finish" jobs so they started off in a laundry room ripping out old
hard wood floors, then filling in the the area so they could pour
a concrete floor. They also put in a ceiling, painted. Helped make
counter tops. When all that was finished they turned there focus
to the project they worked on last year, and continued working
on the guard house. They Put in a pipe system for the bathroom,
poured the rest of the floor. They even tried rough casting the
inside walls...Ladrick said they needed to stay much longer to
improve their skills in that area:)
Thanks for a great week team.

The picture I have posted of Colt below really doesn't do the kid justice.
The only picture I was sent thus far was...lets just say not appropriate to
post on a blog so I had to do lots of cropping before I could post. This morning
I found a great (well 2 great) posts on Ryan and Nicole's Blog so if you go to
www.davisexperience.blogspot.com you will find a lot of good pics of Colt. Its under
Jaxons shout out to Jamaica post.

The Night Sky

Tonight the sky was clear and the stars were bright.
and in that clear sky there was one big white fluffy cloud.
and as the sky got darker
you could really see the lighting in the cloud
It Was Very Cool!

Bubbles

A team left a bubble maker and last week I was able to pull it
out for the first time and let the kids enjoy all the bubbles.
we started off with just a few kids watching as this contraption continued to
make bubbles. They turned it all around to see the process of how the
bubbles were made. Felt it to determine if there was a motor in there
then sat and enjoyed watching it.as the air started to fill with bubbles more and more kids came over to see
where they were all coming from. They had a great time trying to pop all the
bubbles that were quickly filling the air.
they would sit as close as they could get and try to catch the bubbles in
there mouths. This "trick" was quickly stopped after the first few kids
caught a bubble in their mouths and found out it was made of soap and
didn't taste good at all:)
