The BEST Family!

So I have been BLESSED with the most WONDERFUL Family. Thank you I love you all very much. Monday was a crazy busy day Dr. Buzz and team were here (the dental team) to work on the kids so all morning I herded kids to and from the clinic to get there teeth checked and I was also on crowd control while the kids waited to get in and see the dentists. At some point in the morning nurse Loftman asked me if I would be able to take one of the students to the Dr's for a follow up appointment. Not knowing what I was getting into I agreed. Once dropped off at the Dr's we sat and waited 4+ hours to see the Dr.. Within the last few weeks God has been telling me again and again to be still. And I have been trying very hard to take down time daily to just be still. Apparently I have not been doing a good enough job so He took this opportunity to take me to a place where I had no choice but to stop and be still for 4+ hours (my student took a nice long nap in the chair next to me:)) When we finally did get home I was tired and still had a work team here to host. Once all was said and done and the team was settled in for the night I came into my office to try and catch up on all the emails and updates that have been piling up when I noticed not 1 but 2 packages and a card ALL from my most wonderful HINRICHSEN family! YOU all get the gold star for the day. Thanks so much for taking the time to think of me. You made my week. I hope you all have a most Wonderful week I love you and miss you. Be blessed and be a blessing -Erin-

Ants

Good Sat. Morning everyone! Here is a little clip of the ants the try at least once a week to over take my apartment. The main room in my apt is long and narrow. Its 25' x 11' and this consists of kitchen, dining, living, and bathroom, The ants have a continual path from my door (along 25') along the wall and out my kitchen window. and its not just 10 or 20 ants. there has to be hundreds continually walking the path until I bring out the can of Raid ant killer and get rid of them all. One night last week I must have been sitting on my couch reading to long because I became part of their path. Sorry they are kind of hard to see on the clip and I only taped not even half way along their path it was just to long.Have a great weekend. I love you. Be blessed and be a blessing -Erin-

Finally Here!

Good Tuesday Morning Everyone! I pray that the Lord is blessing your week! YAY! Finally last friday after 4 months of living here I got furniture and was able to get off the floor! (Praise the Lord!)
This is my recliner
This was my previous "couch" that I now turned into a coffee table
Through contacts Chad and Pam have made down here they were able to get 3 sofa's and 5 chairs that people were getting rid of so I just went furniture shopping in their home. With the help of Ionda a couch and 2 chairs were picked out. It was nice too that the Hubers had gone through and found all the little suprises and cleaned them out of the furniture before they took it into their home so I didn't have to job of finding little suprises when it was brought into mine:). I would also like to point out the wood pile that has started in my apt. You can see it behind the couch. I don't know why but it seems to be helpful to always have a few spare peices of wood laying around in case you need to get a lizard out or kill any thing that has come into the apt that doesn't belong there. As of now I have 3 Pieces in my wood pile:) Have a great day. I love you. Be blessed and be a blessing. -Erin-

Completely Relaxed

Good Friday Evening Everyone! I thought I would share some pictures from the great relaxing valentines day I had yesterday! I am still trying to figure out this blogging and I put the pictues on backwards so you have to scroll down to the bottom and work your way up. Also I think I broke the spell checker on this thing because I can't get it to work any more so please forgive me for all the words that are spelled wrong:) Have a great weekend. I love you! Be blessed and be a blessing -Erin-
The Beautiful sunset at the end of the day!
Enjoying the sunshine and the boat ride Sheesh it was windy!

When I laid back to enjoy the sun this was my view. Jamaica...Jamaica... Jamaica land I love (a little part of the JA national anthem)
I snorkled for about a half hour-forty-five min. But the water was so choppy that the waves would lift me up and then the wind would die and I kept doing little belly flops. Our God is so cool and I did get to see some great coral and very cool fish. Colors from electric blue to a white almost clear. There was even a HUGE fish as big as my torso. about that time i got out!
This is the Michigan team I adopted for the day from JDV to host on their free day. They were a fun group and I even found out the man in yellow shirt in the second row (I think his name is wally meyers) grew up in Morton so he actually heard of the great town of Goodfield, IL AND growing up he attended the Tremont A.C. Church! Its a small world after all!
Enjoying some time playing in the ocean before our boat arrived. It made me nervous at times when the guys (I would guss who were all between the ages of 45-70+) would be trying to run across the bridge between trampolines.

Happy Valentine's Day (a day early)

So this is being posted a day early because tomorrow I am to be up and ready to go by 7 in the morning to take JDV's work team on their free day. Sickness is continually going around and now the Hubers have it so I will be taking their team on their free day in MoBay tomorrow. That is why this post is early HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY! This little guy on my lap is Damion. He is very sweet and very protective of me. The other day he brought me this metal pipe filled with sand that he had stuck flowers in and gave it to me with his shy smile! I took this as my valentines gift a few days early:) I hope you all have a most WONDERFUL day in the LORD. I love you! Be blessed and be a blessing -Erin-

BIG NEWS!

Chad and Pam just found out they are not only having one baby this summer but they are having 2! Congrats to the Hubers and the news about having twins. Please continue to pray for them.

Labor of Ministry Man

Good Afternoon all: I am all done with speech therapy and trying to get some organizing done when I was informed that I needed to hide my face! Mr. Gallimore from the Ministry of Labor was here visiting CCCD KP today and so Mr. Jones was hopeing for an opportunity to present our case to him while he was here. Thankfully Mr. Gallimore seemed very responsive and was willing to hear what Mr. Jones had to say taking with him a lot of information and promising to do what he could to help our situation. YAY! Praise the Lord. Once Mr. Gallimore was in his car leaving I was trying to work back in the store room and I came out to ask Nicolas a question and was talking to him about how he thought it went (Nicholas thought it was very positive!) all of a sudden Mr. Jones comes in standing right in front of me blocking me from talking to nicholas and said HIDE YOUR FACE! Aparently I was supposed to be hiding while the man was here and I didn't know it. But unless he can see through walls I think we are ok. I praise God for this opportunity and the receptiveness of Mr. Gallimore. But I continue to ask for your prayers in this situation with our work permits. Have a great day I love you so much. Be blessed and be a blessing -Erin-

Meet the Trinity Group

This is Amelia and she was a fun one! She had tons of energy and LOVED playing this "game"with me where she would run up behind me when I was not paying attention and lift up the back of my skirt becuase she thought my reaction was funny! She defnitly kept me on my toes, and made me pay attention to everything that was going on.
This team was from the Trinity Bible Church in Texas. They were a fun group with lots of kids as you can see. The about half the team focused on the contruction part of the week putting up our basktball poles again. (YAY!). Pouring a cement slap and some side walks, and putting up a fence around the play ground. The other half of the team took the kids from 3-5 (other wise known as the chaos hours) and did VBS with them. They were a fun team to get to know and my kids loved having kids here there own age to play with. The next 2 weeks are free of work teams so I will get a little break and just be working in the schools. Have a great Sunday! I love you and miss you all. Be blessed and be a blessing -Erin-

Free Day at YS Falls

This is the rope swing and it drops you right in a pool at the bottom of the falls (seen below) I have yet to use this rope swing because the water is still very cold in the mountains and so I am going to give it a month yet to warm up!
The Beautiful YS Falls

This is Jeff Daniels and 2 of his girls Erin (the younger) and lexi. Jeff and his wife Jody with their kids Lexi, Erin, Ally, & Jeff Jr. are in the process of raising supports and are hoping to move down to the MoBay campus as full time missionaries this summer. Please pray for them.

Good Friday Morning Everyone! YAY! its Friday! and tomorrow I have hitched a ride into MoBay for the day so I will get to spend a few hours with the plattners and the kids at MoBay between drop off and pick up. Yesterday I took the Trinity team from Texas and we went to YS falls for their free day. These falls are AMAZING and not real well known so they are not packed like Ocho Rios. I attached some pictures. AND I am excited to say I found my rope swing down here. I was getting bumbed thinking about not being able to go to the lake and get on the rope this summer but GOD is good and provided a rope swing down here for me:). OK as i sit and wait for these pictures to upload i am enjoying jelly bellies that where given to me and i was enjoying the stawberries, and peach, lemon, watermellon THEN I just ate one that tasted like a pickle. Seriously! why is there a need for jelly beans to taste like pickles YUCK! Ok off to the hands in praise show. O a couple of prayer requests 1) a group of 5 from hands in praise and the principle (Mrs.d) left this morning to begin their states tour and share their ministry. Please pray for them they will be gone for 2 weeks. Also this monday (the 11th) a person with a lot of pull is coming from the ministry of labor to tour our CCCD campus. Mr Jones is hopeing for a few min. to talk to him about our work permit situation. With this mans connectins big things can happen so please pray. Thank so much. I love you! be blessed and be a blessing -Erin-

Natural Highs

Good Thursday Evening Everyone! I pray that the Lord has blessed your days in amazing ways. Tonight I was going through old emails trying to see ones I could delete and I found this old one from 6 years ago it was a forward about things that give you "natural highs" and as I read it it made me realize many of these happen to me down here on a daily bases. For example:
Laughing so hard your face hurts- I laugh all the time down here with friends or at the kids and their antics
A hot shower- I Praise God every morning I get up and there is hot water!
Getting mail- Getting mail down here is like Christmas morning everytime (even if its junk mail:)
Taking a drive on a pretty road- I am on the road at least once a week and some of the views are indescriable!
Hearing your favorite song on the radio- On good days if the wind blows just right an oldies station or country station comes in on the radio and i can sing along to the songs i know!
Lying in bed listeing to the rain- I love lying in bed listening to the rain on the zinc (tin) roof.
A good coverstaion- People are always ready to sit and talk if you are willing to give them the time.
The beach- I am in Jamaica!
Having someone tell you your beautiful- usually about once a week one of the kids comes up and calls me beautiful. This always makes my heart smile becuase i know they look at the true person and not just outward apperance.
Making friends and spending time with old ones- Working with work teams God has given me a great opportunity to meet new people from all over, and to spend time with old friends from the states too!
Having someone play with your hair- The girls here love playing with my hair because its so different from theirs.
Hot Chocolate- my breakfast drink of choice it may sound random since i live in JA but its cold in the mornings. (not IL cold but cold just the same)
Seeing smiles and hearing laughter- I love seeing the kids smile and sitting in my apt hearing different laughs and knowing which kid it belongs too.
Watching the sunset- I have been given a great view from my kitchen and bedroom window!
GETTING UP EVERYMORNING AND THANKING GOD FOR ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL DAY. Thank you all for letting me share my heart. I love you. Be blessed and be a blessing-Erin-

Happy Holiday

A professional photographer was here on Monday to take pictures for the C.C.C.D. website. He got all the kids together for a picture so I jumped at the chance to get a few pictures myself knowing that I would never get this many of them together again! So these are the kids and teachers here at C.C.C.D KP. The kids in the maroon and tan are in the pre primary and primary school. The kids in the navy and white are the vocational students taking classes and doing their job training here in the heart program at C.C.C.D. When they graduate they will then test to become cerfitified in their area and with this certificate more jobs will be available to them. Tajay and Damion enjoying the crafts

Good Wednesday Morning Everyone. Today is Ash Wednesday and its celebrated as a holiday down here so there is no school, and I have been sent to the computer to construct and type a new instruction booklet for the school. I am procrastinating as long as possible so I thought I would do some blogging. The team here this week is doing a VBS with the kids after school and putting lots of time and energy into lessons and craft projects and then then kids come in... Here are some pictures showing how my wonderful kids whom I love very much but can be very special at times and take these art projects and truly make them their own. Have a great day. I love you. Be blessed and be a blessing -Erin-
