Sports Day!!!

So FINALLY over a week after it happened I have had

time to stop get my pictures together and the blog is

playing nice and allowing me to post my MANY pictures
from the eventful day!
Sports day is a something the kids look forward ALL year!

Heres Hoping...

As I sit down to write I am waiting for water to boil on
the stove so I can add it to my little bucket and take my "shower"
What you see below has been my "shower" for at least the last month...
if not longer.
This sat. teams start coming in again and I have been
assured that water will be here for them when they arrive.
I am very much looking forward to the day that I can have
a real shower at home!
My bucket of wash water and jug of rinse water!
I challenge you all out there to try and wash your hair
(especially you girls out there with long thick hair)
in a 3 gallon bucket.(hopefully you are flexible as you are in
the constant position of bending down to touch your toes!)

Mini Holiday with Friends

God has blessed me in such fun and unexpected ways down here.
one of those ways is getting to meet and know AMAZING people
For example: The Ringgers!
I met them on a trip not even a year ago and this past week they
were back down on the island and we had SO MUCH FUN!
Saturday I met them at the resort they were staying at for a
day of fun in the sun!
(Yes I am a nice shade of RED and YES I applied and reapplied
sunscreen throughout the day!)
Sunday Morning we checked out of the resort then drove 2.5 hours to go to
church at JDV. I loved getting to share my church down here with them.
After church we were off again...
we grabbed patti's and ting for lunch then drove the 1.5 hours to kingston
(a lot of driving was done this day!)
They were able to meet one of their Jamaican kids Sunday night

Then Monday the kids came back from mid-winter break and they got
to spend the day with their other Jamaican kids Anesa, Alex and Brittany.

We drove up to Mandeville Monday night and they stayed with me.
Another great night of talking and laughing!
Then this morning I drove them to the airport so they could fly back home:(

What a great mini holiday!
So good for my heart!
Now the audiologist come back Thursday night,
Teams start coming in again Saturday,
and continue to come until April!
Let the Chaos BEGIN!

Logos Hope

Wednesday I went to the Logos Hope Ship (in port at Mobay) for the

They had hoped for 400 deaf to attend but I would say we were lucky
to get the 200 (my guess at how many came) deaf that showed up since
the event was set up on a Wednesday when a lot of people have to work.
The morning was full of testimonies, songs of praise, skits, and preaching.
Once the revival was over the deaf went to the book sale. One part of the
Logos Hope ministry is the book shop that sells great books
(Christian books,Children's books, Bibles, Bible Studies)
at a crazy cheap price!

I travel down to Mobay with Blake and the Saboda's (a couple who
came to visit to see if this was a possible mission field for them
so please keep them in your prayers). The Saboda's flew back to the states
and Blake and I stayed in MoBay all day Thursday to Pick up
Keri's parents (who were arriving Thurs. night) up from the airport
and take them back to Mandeville with us.
With a day free while we waited Hadie (our new friend and
Logos Hope Contact) invited us back to tour the boat.

I had so much fun! This boat is SO COOL!

Logos hope has a staff of 400+ people (with 50+
countries represented) and each person has a certain duty. The new
arrivals start with jobs such as cleaning, cooking, or book sale. Then
the longer they work on the boat the
more they move around and up the ladder of jobs.
All the staff learn as they go getting on the job training and usually
sign on for a 2 year term. Through this term they sail around the
world, and visit different countries. Some of the staff Go out into the
communities surrounding the port to work with schools, churches,
orphanages, etc. The people who have a heart for long term missions get
to experience possible host countries as they travel.
This ministry is just awesome I learned so much, and feel so blessed
to have met so many amazing people and learn about what they do.

How Beautiful

Felicia performed this song in church Sunday and it was Phenomenal! I just about
cried while watching her sing, but I was supposed to voice the sermon after she
finished so I did my best to keep it together:)

She is such an amazing vessel for Christ.

IT'S RAINING!!!!

Welcome Dry Season!

Last week I was spoiled. We had a team here with a man on it who daily
watched our water levels and worked on the pump to keep our water supply coming.
For one GLORIOUS week I had better water pressure since.... I can't remember last.
Then he left... so did the water pressure.... and pretty much water in general.
Welcome Dry Season!
It comes every year. I know its coming. I have experienced weeks with going
to the faucet knowing most likely when I turn the knob nothing is going to happen.
That time has come again. Going days having a soapy bucket and a rinse bucket
for all washing needs. When hearing the pump turn on running to a water source to fill
whatever will hold water so there is something to use when once again we don't know the next time water will come on. O what fun this time of year is!
