This past Friday I was able to spend the entire day at New Hope and
I it was so much fun. In the morning we celebrated birthdays, and in the
afternoon while the kiddos slept, I helped organize the back room, and
waited for Ben and Lawrence to show up and take mesurements for
New Life's work day there on Sat.

This little guy is 2 weeks old and is the newest
addition to New Hope. He doesn't yet have a name
and I hate that. I heard they will possibly name him
David so thats what I have been calling him.
Yes he is in a stocking. He was our 'model' for this
year's New Hope Children's Home Christmas card:)
He was NOT very happy about being chosen!
A VERY Emotional Moment:
The birthday part was over and a man walked up to the gate while
the kids were playing outside. Amanda (who runs New Hope)
went to talk to the man, opened the gate and called for Sam. It
turns out this guy was Sam's dad, and came to meet Sam for the first
time......ever. Amanda explained to Sam that this was his dad, that he
wasn't going to take him, but that he wanted to visit with Sam and that
Sam could ask him anything he wanted. I felt HORRIBLE taking this
picture. It was such an emotional moment, but Amanda asked me to...
so I did. I don't think Sam fully understood what was going on as
his dad cried and did his best to answer Sam's questions. After they
visited for a while Sam took his dad around introducing "dad" to
everyone and letting us know "you can ask him anything you want."
Over all it was a good visit, and I praise God that Sam can get to know
his dad.
