Lollipop

This week is testing at CCCD so I am
spending my days at New Hope playing
with my babies, and helping to get things
ready for Christmas.

Yesterday was a lollipop kinda day.

From about 1:30-3 each day I have a window
(that the kids are sleeping,or in their beds)
to decorate.  Its SO FUN to watch them wake
up from their naps and come out to see
what room was decorated that day.

Thank You Jesus for the small things!

Thanksgiving

This past weekend the CCCD missionaries
were able to meet up at JDV for a day to hang
out and celebrate Thanksgiving.
Ben and Krista did the cutting of the meat.
We all brought our favorite Thanksgiving dishes
and had an AMAZING meal!
 the Head of our table
 the rest of the table.
All the parents are out of the picture
so they must be getting things
for their kiddos.
after a wonderful meal, reading the story of the first
thanksgiving, and going around to share what we
are thankful for. We played games while our food
settled, before digging in to the Yummy desserts.

Thank You Jesus for these Wonderful people I get
to serve beside.

Watching them Shine!

Friday I was able to go to Kingston to watch my
kids participate in the National Deaf Sports Day.
I loved being able to be there to support them.

My kids are fast. They did good in the races,
I loved watching my kids shine!

My kids are the ones in purple and Orange.
 Stephan
 Felicia
 Odane
 Whitney.
This girl is crazy fast!
 Shannon
 Mario
 Oshin
 Anthony
 Jermaine

I loved how they worked so hard together to 'train'.
And because of that training there was a lot of celebrating
after the races were won.

I love it.

Thank You Jesus for Good Days Like This!

Weekend.

Saturday I drove to Mobay with the team, dropped them off, then went
to the Mobay school to meet little Matthew Burkett (whom I didn't
get a picture of), and pick up Janice and her mom Edie who are staying
with me this week.
Sunday Morning we drove to St. E and surprised Pauline, after we found
out that Pastor Damian wouldn't be preaching at New Life. I was excited
we were able to go join the St. E group for church, and I was thankful
Janice and Edie were able to spend some time with Pauline.
From there we went to Little Ochie. This is Edie's first time to the
island so we wanted to let her play "tourist" a little bit.
I love the 'atomosphere' of this resteraunt.
The food...not so much :D
Edie saw a big fish she wanted to take a picture with. So she went
to talk with the fishermen cleaning there resent catch.

Of course they were totally fine with letting
her hold the fish for a picture.

Then of course when we were done they
all begged her to buy it for them.

Thank You Jesus for sporadic and fun weekends!

Typical

A typical night with team Jamaica:)

Love Them!

Meet:The Bridge Church

Last week I was able to hang out with a fun group from 'The Bridge Church'
in MD. They were a first time team and had many Caribbean connection so
that made it an extra fun week.

Thank You Jesus for new friends!

Looking For:

29 people,
people willing to take the name of a child at New Hope,
people willing to daily bathe that child in prayer.
Prayer is such a powerful thing and I would love
to get people specifically praying for the kids there.
Let me know if you are interested and I will send you
a picture and the name of a kid to pray for.
Thanks!

Work Day @ New Hope.

Last Sat. New Life Church had a work day at New Hope
Children's Home. I was SO excited to see such a great turn
out. We worked only a few hours but got so much done.

putting in shelves to help with organization and make
more room.
Ben and Ionda ready to work
 Michelle and Shakera working while
Niah looks on.
 Putting in more shelves..
 and more shelves.
(Praising Jesus for each shelf that
was added, giving us more room to store
donations!)
The kitchen getting some fresh paint
some of the ladies spent the morning combing out,
greasing, and fixing the little girls hair.
 Baby toys were washed.
Kyle was NOT okay with all those people there.
He was really overwhelmed and spent most of the day
on my hip if he wasn't sleeping. I tried to distract him
in the exisaucer, but he wasn't gonna have it:)
Happiness = my babies happy and playing
at my feet.
I love this picture of Abbi chilling on Simone's leg
while she gets her hair fixed.
Pauline getting big smiles from Javon.
Ionda had Shemario giggle. It was so cute.
I had never heard him giggle before, but he
was LOVING the attention he was getting
from Ionda.

Thank You Jesus for These opportunites and
the doors they open to further ministry!

Hands in Praise Concert

On Friday Hands in Praise had a concert to raise money.
So for $50J I was able to watch my kids rock it!
It was so much fun.
The first two videos are a skit/dance they did in MV last
month. Some kids represent addictions and some
are the positive alternative to those addictions. Sorry
I ran out of space on my memory card so I have the 1st part
of the skit and the last part.

The 3rd video is a dance off we had with the kids while
the hands in praise team changed. Sanieka CLEARLY won
:)

The last is one of the songs they do as they minister.

Enjoy!

Happy November Birthday New Hope!

This past Friday I was able to spend the entire day at New Hope and
I it was so much fun. In the morning we celebrated birthdays, and in the
afternoon while the kiddos slept, I helped organize the back room, and
waited for Ben and Lawrence to show up and take mesurements for
New Life's work day there on Sat.
Ciera enjoying her ice cream cone
 Trishana
Tafiquie was totally content just playing
with the balloons.
 We celebrated Chantel's birthday.
 And Ted's too!
 Princeton
the kids excited to get a cupcake
 Cheesy (pronounced Ches e)
 Felicia
( I LOVE this picture of her!)
This little guy is 2 weeks old and is the newest
addition to New Hope. He doesn't yet have a name
and I hate that. I heard they will possibly name him
David so thats what I have been calling him.
Yes he is in a stocking. He was our 'model' for this
year's New Hope Children's Home Christmas card:)
He was NOT very happy about being chosen!

A VERY Emotional Moment:
The birthday part was over and a man walked up to the gate while
the kids were playing outside. Amanda (who runs New Hope)
went to talk to the man, opened the gate and called for Sam. It
turns out this guy was Sam's dad, and came to meet Sam for the first
time......ever. Amanda explained to Sam that this was his dad, that he
wasn't going to take him, but that he wanted to visit with Sam and that
Sam  could ask him anything he wanted. I felt HORRIBLE taking this
picture. It was such an emotional moment, but Amanda asked me to...
so I did. I don't think Sam fully understood what was going on as
his dad cried and did his best to answer Sam's questions. After they
visited for a while Sam took his dad around introducing "dad" to
everyone and letting us know "you can ask him anything you want."
Over all it was a good visit, and I praise God that Sam can get to know
his dad.
