Putting screens on the windows
painting the front wall and redesigning the entrance
more painting
drawing on the cccd logo
(this kid has a ridiculous amount of raw artistic skill... it was unreal)
part of the final product
putting up 2x2's to later add the ceiling
making new doors for the back of the semi/store room
new emergency exit steps poured
building a new guard house
building up the guard house walls
the guard house up and ready for the roof to be framed
(in the end the roof was framed and had tin on it I just didn't
get a picture)

Please Pray

Please Pray for the team that is in Kingston right now. One of the
women on the team just got a call this morning that her husband
was killed last night in a car accident. Please pray that things will
come together smoothly as they get her arrangements set up to fly back
and for comfort for her, her family, and the team that is there with her now.
Thanks.

Meet GVSU

This past week we had a team from Grand Valley State University (in Michigan)
come to serve with us. Part of the team worked in the school helping to set
up bulletin boards in the class rooms for teachers. The other part of the
team was working on the farm helping to finish the new pig pens, and
started the construction of a room to butcher animals.

Unreal!

Today I found out (after all my letters that were stamped and ready to go
were returned to me) that the price of stamps went up 100%
Yes thats right 100%
in one jump the price of stamps doubled! so I then had to add another stamp
to all my letters. Now hopefully they get sent before the price doubles again!
Craziness!

What I Like To Call... Complete Chaos!

we had a whole heap of kids come to CCCD Kp for 4-H day last Thursday

throw in a big inflatable jumpy thing for the kids
and speakers that are SO loud my ears felt like they had water in them and
would not stop ringing from being within a mile of these speakers all day
(notice how all my kiddos are AS close as possible to the speakers!)

add all those together and you get a glimpse of the craziness that day:)

Then when all the other schools finally left my kids were left with the music
coming from these Giant speakers and so they had themselves a dance party!

Meet Cedarville University

We had the privalige to host a fun group from Cedarville University
this past week. We had half the team working in the
school, working as teachers assistance, getting things set up for us so when we
need them we can go and pull out what the team created and use it (saving us
a lot of valuable time). The other half of the group was down on the farm
building pig pens. Then after school they did after school activities with
the kids teaching them a bible story, creating a craft that went along with
the story then for those who participated in the first two parts with the team
joined them for a snack time. Over all a great week. I pray that they were
blessed as much as they blessed us!

The Audiologist... Back Again

Just a month after they had been down here the audiologist were back after
raising the funds and getting the donations they needed to fit some of our kids
with new digital hearing aids. This team amazes me in the way they allow God
to use them, and how quickly God provided for them ( $60,000.00 worth of
donated aids and ear molds)was... AMAZING!
What a mighty God we serve!Friday they spent the majority of the day working with our Kingston
kids so Sat.they wanted to get started by 8 to finish in good time. As things
go down here you hurry up and wait. Thus I am almost always ready with a
book. That morningI thankfully had my coffee and phone too so I could
make my weekly calls back to the states to catch up while waiting to begin:)
(one of the students was bored and borrowed my camera to take pictures:)

Its harder to get a good audio-gram on the little kids who don't have a
developed language yet. They mostly copy doing what you do not getting
the concept IF you hear a beep raise your hand. Because of this they tried
retesting the younger kids to see if there results were the same or if this time
they could get a better reading of their hearing levels.
Kadeen was SO EXCITED Dec. of 08 when they came to do all the testing.
He was SO EXCITED to get his ears filled with pink goo in January to make
ear molds for his new hearing aids. FINALLY this past week he was fitted
with hisaids and the kid had the biggest smile on his face the entire time!
I felt a little bad for the audiologist because he can't always control his
drool, and when he continued to smile so big for so long it was a little
worse then normal:) BUT, I am sure they understood from the HUGE
smile plastered on his face how excited he was!
