Evaluation Team

An ACWR evaluation team came to join us on Sat. We were with
them for the first part of the week for Church, team meetings,
and visiting the different organizations ACWR supports
on this side of the island. There was lots of food and good fellowship.
Wednesday we showed them the new deaf church in Sav-La-Mar,
then went on to Ramble to visit with Bro. Bob, and then off to
the Mobay campus before parting ways.
They continued visiting different organizations around
Mobay while we returned back to our responsibilities at CCCD.

The Adult table Monday Night when we all met for supper.

We had another team picture taken but this time Daisha
was not in it since she was at home with the babysitter.

I guess I will have to wait until next year to get a good
team picture now that the Hubers are back in the states.

Oh Gawayne...

This is Gawayne, and the picture above is of him sitting
outside the play ground being punished.
(one of the kids captured this for me while playing with my camera)
Why is Gawayne being punished?
Sat. mornings if the sun is out I try to open up the playground for
the kids to play for a few hours. Gawayne always comes in but
never actually plays. He just sits as close to me as possible (sometimes
uncomfortably close as he has no sense of personal space:) and will
jabber (he has some hearing and can talk).
On this day he was jabbering on about good behavior and obedience.
As he sat there he repeated over and over and over again.
Good behavior... Obey.... Good behavior.... Obey.... Good behavior...Obey.
At about the 20th repetition I looked at him and told him to GO PLAY!
After a few mins of wandering around the play ground he tries to sit
down next to me again. This time there was NOT enough room between
me and the girl sitting beside me so I had him move down the bench to
a space where there was actually enough space for him to sit. He sat there
for a few mins. then started calling my name repeatedly until I looked
his way. He then flipped me the bird and started laughing hysterically
before running out of the play area.
So much for good behavior!

Hello Tomas!

Tomas came and went, bringing a very windy, short rain showers,

sunshiney afternoon day.
And after it swept through it left the most AMAZING colors. As I
was sitting in my house last night a warm glow of color entered my
living room window so I went out to enjoy God's beauty.
There were a few wispy clouds left but after a beautiful sunset
we had a clear night with a great view of the stars!
Praying for all those Tomas does effect.

Preparations have begun

Even though Tomas has been down graded and is no longer a hurricane
preparations are still being made for whatever storms he
may bring with him. Part of the prep work is covering the windows.
Don't have wood?... just use zinc!

Kirk ,being very Jamaican, is making sure his opinion... 2 cents... complaint...

Now with Zinc on the windows it will be loud(er)
Good thing I am used to using ear plugs at home:)

To help pass the time

Not sure why but this night seems to be dragging on forever so I
am going to help pass the time by blogging random events.

Sunday night we had our annual team Jamaica cookout and 3
years after the first we got a new team picture.... we are going to
have totry again since the lighting in this picture is awful,
and Lucas is cashed out.

Monday I had fun trying to capture some pictures of this
ornery one since he didn't want to cooperate last Thursday
when I captured his other siblings:)

Today with we read about Daniel and the lions den, then
the kiddos made lion puppets for themselves.
Not sure why Matthew is holding up a mother goose book.
