The long over due recap of June and July...

 A "Hinrichsen" team once more came to JDV for a week, and

Neiah and I were able to go join them.

 They were able to join me in the mornings at New Hope,

 helping me to love on the babies.

 We had 3 more teams at KP this summer... but sadly I can only

find pictures from one of the teams...

 We celebrated the graduation of 5 of our students the end of 

June. Prayers for them as they start their lives in the "real world"

would be appreciated.

 The second week of July this little lady finished her 1st year of

school, and was very disappointed to find out that there was a

summer break. Thankfully the next week we were flying to the

states so she had something to look forward to:).

Running away

 Praise Jesus for weekends that we can run away for a few days.

 Praise Jesus for sunshine, and beaches that are close.

 Praise Jesus for a little lady who loves

 the beach as much as I do!

 Love this girl, her quiet spirit and sweet smile.

 He sat very nicely 'protecting' the cupcakes

 this kid....

Deaf Can Coffee!

 So proud of the boys at the Kingston campus and their hard work

in learing how to roast coffee, and learning to become baristas 

so they could open their own coffee shop.

 They make hot coffee drinks,

 and cold coffee drinks

 the boys filling orders for some costumers.

 They are also starting to dry their own berries

(coffee beans)

 and roasting it.

 so that they can package it to sell.

Going to the Zoo

Neiah was supposed to go on a field trip to the zoo, but for whatever

reason the trip was cancelled. It was a holiday weekend down here

so Neiah and I decided to ask some friends to come to the zoo with us.

 We waited a lot...

 waited for the zoo to open (it only opened 45 mins. late:)

waited for the tour of the animals (because they didn't want you

walking around on your own)

and waited for the 'petting zoo' part of the zoo.

Thankfully there were these very loud birds,

 and an awesome play ground to keep them

busy during those long waiting periods.

 The first stop was with Mary the Llama. And then it

started to rain so we hung out under a tree a long time with Mary.

 The next few animals were ground squirrls and a racoon...

I didn't expect a lot from the zoo... but definitely a little more than that!

 There were lions, and monkeys that the kids loved so that was good.

 Then came the "petting zoo" part.

This was what probably made the hour drive worth it.

Neiah was a lot braver then I thought she would be.

Willing to pet all the animals.

I was thankful the fun outing worked out,

and that the kids had fun.

 We had a surprise baby shower for Krista after church.

 Having a mothers day lunch with this lady at her school

 sleeping is a little harder now that she is in a booster

seat. We also had another exciting experience when

she decided to open the car door while I was driving 

down the road. Thankfully the car has child locks

and they are now on so we don't have a repeat of that.

 did a little cow hearding one morning as they

tore down the fence and decided to wander

around.

Manish water (aka goat soup)

was made this week. All parts of the goat

are used. This is the cooking of the 

goat skin to add to the soup.

mmmmmmmmmmm.

May Teams

This month we have had two teams with us.

 The first was the dental team. This group has

 faithfully been coming for years. They spend a week

 giving great dental care, and fixing as many

problems as possible for all our students

and staff.

The second group was from Samaritines Feet.

This is the second time they have come.

They were only here for 2 days, and spent

their time

 washing the feet of all our students and staff

 then praying for them

before giving each one a new pair of shoes.

This is always a very humbling experience for all

involved. This group had beautiful hearts and

reflected the love of Christ in a beautiful way.
